Escape from the Mummy's Tomb!
Banish boredom and let our new online game transport you to an ancient tomb in Beni Hasan, Egypt. You’re an intrepid explorer on a mission to collect fascinating objects that are many thousands of years old. But beware - there’s a mummy on the loose! Can you bring the objects safely back to World Museum and unlock the mysteries of the ancient world? Be quick or you’ll be history. Escape from the Mummy’s Tomb! is inspired by the new Ancient Egypt gallery at World Museum where you can see real-life artefacts from the game amongst 1500 exhibits from our incredible collections. Don’t worry about the mummies though – we keep them safely under wraps.
Cecil Beaton: Portraits
This must-see summer exhibition celebrates one of the most celebrated photographers of the twentieth century, Cecil Beaton. Featuring iconic portraits of stars like Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Onassis and Audrey Hepburn, his images are the embodiment of elegance, glamour and style. Beaton's work has inspired many famous photographers including David Bailey and Mario Testino. This exhibition, originally shown at the National Portrait Gallery covers five decades of Beaton's career capturing 50 years of fashion, art and celebrity. Magic at the Maritime

This year marks his 200th birthday and venues across the country are celebrating the occasion as part of Darwin 200. Jazz at the Walker

Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival
To coincide with the vibrant and colourful Liverpool Arabic Arts Festival the Walker Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of ceramics, ‘The Art of Halima Cassell’ from 11 July until 9 August. In addition World Museum Liverpool is unveiling a small display of hidden treasures from our Islamic collections from 29 June - 31 July.
